RAX80 Setup Problems and any possible solutions needed!

On initial setup of Nighthawk RAX80 I had difficulty with the Nighthawk App. I could not find the Router, no matter what I did - until I discovered the Wi-Fi button. It was not even mentioned in the Manual Setup steps. I proceeded with the App - changed the name of the network and the password, as well as responding to change router admin name and password and responding to the questions. Then after restarting the App it could no longer find the router. No one warned that changing the name of the network to what had been our previous network name would totally confuse the App while attempting setup via Wi-fi. But we struggled on and managed to get both wired and wireless working  - then this AM hit a blank wall.
The login attempts all failed (Router still functioning) but attempts to Login and view different settings and features was blocked. Recorded admin name 'admin' and password did not work. Attempting to use recovery with Serial Number and responses to questions also did not work … and I had a witness to my responses to the questions. … So I cannot get in to the details regarding the setup and am limited to the App for anything I would like to accomplish.
Is the only answer a full factory reset for the Router and begin setup again? Will that even work?

  • Probably easiest to factory reset using the button on the back of the router.

Otherwise you can plug in via ethernet and access the router that way.  In a browser goto routerlogin.net.
