RAXE300: Combine 6Ghz band with 5Ghz/2.4Ghz?
I just setup a new RAXE300 6E router. I used SmartConnect to combine the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands, but it won't include the 6Ghz band.
I used the same SSID for both the combined 2.4/5Ghz bands, and the separate 6Ghz band, and things seem to be working fine.... My laptop connects to 6Ghz fine, my phone initially connects to 6Ghz and switches to 5Ghz as I roam the apartment, as expected.
Is this supported? My phone switches from 6Ghz -> 5Ghz, but not 5Ghz -> 6Ghz (unless I toggle WiFi). If I use a separate SSID for 6Ghz, my Macbook Pro complains with a "Limited Compatibility" warning in WiFi settings and says that having a separate 6Ghz network might impact things like AirPlay, and that I should use the same SSID for all bands.
What should I do?
So I reset my phone's WiFi settings (i.e. made it forget everything), and now it works fine: it seamlessly switches between 5GHz/6GHz on the same SSID.
I talked to Netgear tech support, and it's ok to have the 6GHz band share the SSID as the combined SmartConnect bands. No real explanation why SmartConnect can't include 6GHz.

I've got the RAXE500 and the 6ghz doesn't integrate with the smart connect either. One of the biggest disappointments about it. I've asked a moderator about if there was an intention to integrate it but I didn't hear anything back. I'd expect the RAXE300 to be similar.
