Router not seeing internet

Model: RAXE300

I am having the issue that my new router will not connect to my internet. I have a fiber switch in my house that the goes to this router. I have talked with support, and they said nothing is wrong with my router. I contacted my fiber provider, and they say nothing is needed to reset to use a new router. I am upgrading from a previous netgear router to this one that. The ISSUE I am having is that after turning everything on and plugging my lan from the switch into the AXE7800 it never sees the internet connection during setup. My fiber switch has indicator lights that shows fiber, lan, and internet, these all show green when plugging it in. I have checked that's it's up to date and have configured to try both lan ports and neither works for me. It keeps telling me to try resetting my modem, but I do not have this. I am unsure what my issue is.

Thanks for any help!

  • Is the internet LED on the RAXE router WHITE or AMBER?

Are you using the yellow WAN port or the MultiGig port on the RAXE for the connection to the ONT/Switch?

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT and switch the NG router is connected too?
Be sure your using a good quality LAN cable between the modem and router. CAT6A STP is recommended.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem/ONT and Switch and router been performed?
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:
    Turn off and unplug modem.
    Turn off router and computers.
Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
Turn on computers and rest of network.

      The internet LED is AMBER

As for the WAN port, I have tried the 1G port and MultiGig port even after the choosing either one in setup.

As for Firmware version I cannot get that at this time, I would be able to later, but I will say when I called Netgear yesterday they had me check this and it said it was up to date.

As for the cable I have various Cat cables I have tried that are Cat 5 and 6 and tried the included one as well.

The cable connection sequence is not clear in your original post.  You need to go from your ONT through an Ethernet cable direct to the WAN input on your router.  Use the WAN input you have configured in the router user interface.

Once that is done or confirmed, the startup sequence is important.  Power down your ONT and disconnect the Ethernet cable output.  Power down (pull the power cord) on your router.  Power up your ONT and give it ample time to boot and establish a connection.  If you have an internet status LED on your ONT, wait for it to be illuminated.

Now connect the Ethernet cable from the ONT to your router and power it up.  Wait for the boot sequence to complete and the internet status LED should illuminate.
