I can't edit my post but just wanted to say, someone pointed out to me that this email is about a VERY OLD router I had, prob. purchased in 2011.
So it's possible this is legit, although the emails are different.

So it's possible this is legit, although the emails are different.FWIW, I got a similar email last August regarding a router I'd never owned (Orbi RBK13), and starting with the "Hi Lauren," so not my name.
It wasn't a from a scammer - mail headers, etc were all legit. Something clearly went amiss with Netgear's notification server. I provided this info to Netgear when I received the email, but never heard anything back.
But it is odd in your case, as any wireless N router would gone end-of-life long ago. I guess you could look at your registered products list on support.netgear.com to see if anything that might match is included there.

all of the links on the scammy looking email are to click.e. netgear. com
As did mine. But this isn't a red flag, as that URL is still part of netgear.com. The click-e bit gives Netgear marketing analytics (letting them identify how many folks are clicking on these email links).
If you had clicked it on, it would resolve to a router page in the Netgear store. FWIW, the link in mine went to the Orbi 370.
