Swapping from XFinity XFi to CM2050V / RAX200 drops my speed tests from 400+ to 100 ish

Hi,

I have just swapped today from a XFinity XFi modem/router to a CM2050V / RAX200 combo.  I did tests with several speed apps (inc FCC) and sites and consistently got over 400 Mbps. After the installs I get consistenly around 100. Both were 5g connections off the same PC and Phone in the same locations.  How can this be fixed. I do not have Qos, Parental Control, etc on.

Any tips/advise welcome.

Thanks in advance Trevor

  • what speed do you get hardwired into the router?

what device are you testing on wireless?

are you using the speedtest app on mobile?

how far from the router are you for testing.

    What firmware are you on?

    Are you using smart connect?

I've got a similar setup and can hit 600mbps on an older oneplus 6t with my RAXE500 over the 5ghz.

Make sure to test hardwired into the router and hardwired into the modem.

to many variables impact wireless speeds so lets start at basics and ensure full speeds at the modem and then at the router.
