The gig is up -- the new AX12 will be D.O.A.
The AX12 appears to have NO DFS channel support.
This is according to Netgear's own product page (no DFS mention; whereas routers with DFS support mention that), and FCC documents (PY317300397)...

Just set my RAX80 to DFS 56 today.

RAX120, not RAX80.
But since you have a RAX80, try setting to DFS 132/136/140/144 in 80 Mhz mode and report back.

It is a RAX80. I should have paid more attention to the thread

Unless something was changed with the RAX120 firmware ref. DFS ...

...and Netgear has nor certified these channels (at least not under the FCC filings) for the RAX80, ..., both unlikely.
- avtellaMay 04, 2019ProdigyAs an AC device performance wasn’t much different compared to the R7800. However with AX enabled I saw a max of 15-20% improvement over the 5Ghz band over AC and a near 2X improvement on 2.4 GHz HT20 AX vs N, HT40 AC only showed a modest 20% increase over that.
I can get ~84 MB/s downlink at HT80 AC with both the AX1650 and previously the 9260ac in my Dell 7577 one floor below the RAX120 (about 12-15ft). Similar in tests with the RAX80 and R7800. The target storage was a ReadyNAS 524X.
Not much of an improvement for me over that even when I tested in line of sight.
That’s about a 77.5% efficiency compared to the max link rate. It’s definitely possible.
HT160 AC nets about 140 MB/s down on the RAX80 and HT160 AX about 165 MB/s at the same location.
In terms of link rate to actual achieved throughput, HT80 has been the most efficient in my setting/environment and tests.- avtellaMay 05, 2019ProdigyFor some reason unlike the RAX 80 which can hit 165 MB/s on HT160 AX , the RAX 120 can only do 104-108 MB/s downlink but oddly ~140-145 MB/s and at times up to 165 MB/s uplink side.
