WiFi Easy Connect not working with RAX120

I have a LaCross weather station that uses WiFi Easy Connect to connect the device to my network. (There is a bar-code on the unit that their App scans. You then enter your network password and it is supposed to do the "Easy Connect" magic to have the router make the connection.)

The device was connected to the router for many months, but I think this connection was intially made with my previous router. I needed to do a reset and now I can't get it to connect again. I contacted LaCross, who sent me a replacement unit, which still won't connect, so it seems like the problem is either with their App, or with my router.

My RAX120 is at the latest firmware level. The other day I logged in to my router and (after saving my configuration) "Reset to Factor Defaults". I then left it like that, other than changing my SSIDs and passwords. The result: Easy-Connect still won't connect the device.

I looked at the router logs and there is absolutely nothing shown there during the "Easy Connect" attempt. All logging options are selected.

What can I try next? How do I debug Easy-Connect? Thanks.

    Hi Barry,

Were you able to perform a factory reset by holding down on the reset button for 15+ seconds?

Wouldn't the factory reset I did in the admin panel be the same thing?

        Hi Barry,

We recommend performing a hard factory reset using the reset button.

      Christian,

yes, I did the push-button full reset. (It is clearly way more than just setting factory defaults.)

Again, I changed nothing after that except the admin password, SSIDs and Wireless passwords.

WiFi Easy Connect still fails to work. There is still nothing in the logs. Is there a way to debug this? I guess I can buy a different brand of router, try it out, and then return it to the store, but that's not very nice.

        For anyone following along:

I took my weather station to my daughters today. She has an AT&T BGW210 modem/router.

It took about 7 seconds for the WiFi Easy Connect process to complete successfully on that router. (With my AX120, the app tries for 60 seconds before announcing failure.) This is definitely an issue with the Netgear router.
