Windows computers won't connect to WIFI after router reset

I did a reset on my RAX70 router and everything came back online except for the windows computers on WiFi.  They won't connect to the WiFi at all. I get the "can't connect to this network" on every single one of them.  All my other devices connected fine after the reset. I have a desktop windows computer connected by ethernet and that is working fine.

I enabled the guest network with no security and tried to sign into that, but I got the same result. I rebooted the windows computers, told them to "forget" the old WiFi networks and tried again, but none of that worked. I'm out of ideas.

Any help greatly appreciated. I'm using Win11.

  • Thanks for the reply. I tried those but with no luck. However I did find a solution. I did another reset and then the router worked normally. Who knows why.

  • I also tried resetting the network adapters and so forth, though I know that's not the problem. When every Windows computer no longer connects, it's not an issue with the Windows computers.

Try  to forget the wifi profile connection on the windows PCs.

What security mode is set on the router? WPA2 only? Try setting no security on the router as a quick test to see if any PC will connect while in the OPEN. Re-enable WPA2 after checking this.

What channels are set on the router? Try 1 and 40.

Glad you got it working. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

From a past experience standpoint, sometimes it takes more than one cycle for a firmware default (factory) reset to thoroughly complete.
