A few months back my CAX80 got bricked

Question

A few months back my CAX80 got bricked because of a secret firmware push by Netgear and Xfinity so I contact both and they had me do the usual reset and tons of unsuccessful troubleshooting steps. After finding out so many had this same problem and there was no solution especially if you were out of warranty I decided to purchase a Motorola brand and stay away from NetGear. But I'm still super pissed at NetGear and Xfinity for now owning up to this and doing what is right. This is a very $400+ modem.
