AC1200wifi cable modem router

Xfinity installed Netgear AC1200 WiFi cable modem router. Unable to link modem to Chamberlain MyQ garage door with WiFi. Told by installer that ports 53 and 8883 on router need to be opened. How is this done?

    1. Is the C6220 working fine? All other devices connect and internet working?

    2. Which installer? The xfinity guy, the chamberlain installer, who told you that you needed port 53 and 8883 open? 

    3. where does it fail in the process of setup?

    4. have you contacted chamberlain to help setup their device? Their website has a whole support section on FAQ and wireless troubleshooting for the garage door controller.
