AC1900 - No option to choose port for e-mailing logs
I tried setting up my router to e-mail the event logs and after reading several posts relating to this issue, many solutions stated to specify a certain port. However, with this router there is no o...

EDIT: Sorry, see you are on a C7000... have the latest Firmware?
Is this AC1900 and R7000? If so, mine has that feature?

I'm on V1.0.9.18 firmware. Maybe older firmware doesn't have that feature?

Looking at the manual for the C7000, no guarantee of accuracy, this does not have an option to set the SMTP port.
Good point about the firmware. This may be something they added.

So one of the things that makes this whole situation better (sarcasm) is that my router doesn't give the option to upgrade firmware either. At least not that I've seen. I've looked through every tab in the web-based controlling software and I cannot find anything to update firmware. I tried searching the netgear site for firmware and all it did was point me to a download for the Netgear Geanie software which will not let me log in to my router. It just sits there with a little spinning wheel of death that just spins and spins and won't let me log in.
So I'm thinking I might just be screwed and have to perform the tedious task of manually downloading my logs.
Side note, I'm not sure if my ISP blocks port 25, but I have written custom software for other projects that connect to the g-mail server to send e-mail notifications so in theory this feature SHOULD work on the router. I guess I will be looking for another router here soon.

Control of cable modems is in the hands of your Internet service provider.
Aa I suggested in the discussion I linked to, have you tried the GMail server?
smtp.gmail.com
Login using the details for the gmail account.
I tested it yesterday on port 25 and got it to send logs to my Gmail account. It worked instantly.
By the way, if you haven't discovered it yet, the only way I have found to test the email send is to tell the device to send the log now and then to refresh the log. This will show the results for the email send, including any errors.
There is a regular request in beta test for a button to test the email send.

Yes, as stated in my original post I have tried both "aspmx.l.google.com" and "smtp.gmail.com" and both give the socket error.
I also do not have the option to "send now" in the router either. Attached is what my router screen looks like in regards to e-mailing logs.
