AC1900 wifi modem

Xfinity is providing 1.2Gbps but Netgear WiFi does not exceed 741Mbps download speed.

Is this a config issue. 2.4Ghz is upto 600Mbps max. 5Ghz is upto 1.3Gbps max.

I've moved channels to least congested. Any help is appreciated.

Due to the WAN and LAN ports on this older modem being rated at only 1000Mpbs, The modem will never support or see speeds over 1000Mpbs.

IF your going to use this modem, you'll need to ask your ISP to reduce the speed package to something 900Mpbs or lower.

"2.4Ghz is upto 600Mbps max. 5Ghz is upto 1.3Gbps max."< These are connection rates between the modem and wifi devices ONLY. These are not bandwidth/thruput speeds. Most 5Ghz devices top out at around 400-600Mpbs on 5Ghz AC for thruput speeds. 2.4Ghz is even lower.

If you want over 1000Mbps ISP speed support, you'll need to find a modem or gatway modem that supports a 2.5Gb WAN port.

NGs CM2000, CM2050v have 2.5Gb WAN ports. These are modems only. The CAX80 is a gateway modem and has 1 multigig 2.5Gb LAN port, However all other LAN ports on the CAX are 1000Mpbs.

Separately, is there a way to bypass the 2 security questions. I factory reset the router, then replied the backup config after which it's asking the security questions which i don't recollect.

Is it the C6900 that you have in your signature?

If so, one other issue is that its only a docsis 3.0 device.

Xfinity doesn't support gigabit speeds over docsis 3.0.

Only docsis 3.1 devices are supported for gigabit on xfinity.
