Activation issue and connectivity (C6230)

I followed the activation steps on the Xfinity app and the the Netgear instructions. All lights are on on the modem. Xfinity says my modem is defective. It's brand new out of the box. I've had a long list of tech support calls/chats with Xfinity that promise help and I still cannot connect. All I have is 3 mobile devices, no PC. Xfinity suggests I need to get their modem. Is this a common ocurence with Xfinity? If anyone out there has any suggestions I will appreciate it. Thanks.

    Got a screensnip of the cable connections page back to xfinity? 

    It wouldn't be a first time something was bad or that xfinity said it was when it wasn't.
