admin page not loading. having to reboot the router daily to get it back

recently my modem/routers admin page has become unaccessible on a regular basis and the only workaround i have found it to reboot the device. here is what is happening:

attempt to access admin page after waiting a long time get a page that says "This site can't be reached 192.168.0.1 took too long to respond. ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT

 

if i reboot the modem/router i can access the page normally. I dont know how long it takes to break again, but if i try after another day or two it happens again and i have to reboot the device again.

 

any ideas what could be causing this and if there is a fix?

    Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed?

      no as i have done so many customizations and have lots of ip forwarders i have been hoping to avoid something like that as a last resort

        I would reboot the modem to get you back in to the modems UI, after this, I would do a back up of the modems configuration to file. Then factory reset the modem. You can re-apply the backup configuration from file here. Then see if the problem still happens. If it does, you may need to factory rest and setup from scratch and not restore the modem from back up file. Possible mis-configuration could be causing this problem. Hopefully a reset and restore from back up will solve this. Let us know.
