Android phone disconnects from WIFI/Internet

My Android phone connects to my Netgear C3700 modem/wifi router just fine but disconnects after varying amounts of time. I have no issue with our desktop computer or my Surface Pro 3 (both run Windows 10). I've "Googled" this issue and many people have the same issue with Android phones, but no one seems to have the solution.

Anyone?
Anyone?
Buhler?

    Hello PollyB

"He’s Sick, My Best Friends Sisters Boyfriend Brothers Girlfriend Heard from this guy who knows this kid who’s going with this girl that saw Ferris pass out at 31 flavors last night I guess it’s pretty serious."

Have you tried to adjust the wireless channels in the wifi settings of the C3700? we have a good android app called Netgear wifi analytics that will show you the best wireless channel in your area.

Ha ha! Thanks for getting my Ferris reference, Darren! Yep, I changed the channels (tried every one available to no avail). My phone still disconnected. Apparently it is a known issue with Android phones. I have a hunch it may have something to do with the recent upgrade to Android Marshmallow, but I can't swear to that.

Still cRaZy, after all these years. But hopefully I'll figure it out and get my sanity back.

I have heard doing the firmware update from the phone maker has been fixing this issue not the software update have you tried this?
