Apple website. DG834N

Just bought my little daugther a new ipad air for xmas pressy, but cannot use it as it doesn't let us open any apple website in our connections. can anyone please help. called the internet provider and cant help us as we can access other websites. so i am assuming it could have something to do with the router....Thanks in advance, Leo and Malou
