Better performance

Model C6300, modem/router.  Just bought - new ISP service (WOW) will be installed next week.

 

Box says ac adapter is recommended "for maximum performance."  Is this the device I plug into the wall for electricity?  If not, what is it?

 

Box also says "for maximum performance" with laptop I should use a Centrino adapter.  What is this?  (Note: I have a MacBook laptop I will be using.)

    You should  be fine without the adapter and yes it just mean the power plug.
