Buying a modem

Hello,

I am trying to set up an internet connection at my home. I live on a lake in a rural part of NC. Our neighborhood has internet beamed across the lake and we have antennas to pick up the signal which is then routed into the house with cable. From there the cable is attached to a splitter with one end going to power and the other end accepts the cable with an ethernet type connection and then routes it via ethernet cable to a modem then to the router. I am trying to figure out what type of modem I need to purchase. I have an R6250 Netgear Router. All of the modems I have seen appear to be "Cable Modems". Will that work? I don't have a cable connection. Just an ethernet connection so I don't know how that would connect if it's ethernet.

Thank you,
