Solved one problem - only to discover another. Connecting it to the PC, I re-partioned the drive into one big Basic NTFS volume, put in a file so it wouldn't be empty, and then back on the router, and the router started recognizing that it was there. However, I couldn't map it as a network drive, as I had the old unit. Hmm - Windows upgrades ... I had recently moved to Win 10 Pro version 1903, without realizing that it turns off SMB ver1 in favor of SMB ver 3 - and this old model's Readyshare runs on SMB version 1. Since the reason Microsoft made this change is for security (like blocking the "wannacry" ransomeware), I'm hesitant to turn version 1 back on (in Windows Features). Unfortunately, I don't see upgraded firmware for this in the Downloads section. Anybody know anything about Netgear releasing upgraded firmware?
