What is the speed rating of your PCs wired adapter card? 100Mpbs or 1000Mpbs?
What is your wireless adapter connecting at? 300Mbps or lower?
300Mbps on 2.4Ghz is a connection rating between the modem and wireless connected client adapter. This is not to be confused with actual thruput speeds for data flow thru the connection. This differs greatly and no all wireless adapters can support actual thruput speeds past 100Mpbs. Some higher rated AC mode adapters can. N mode on 5Ghz may see upwards of 200Mbps.
Your cable modes is rated for "Cable Internet speeds up to 340 Mbps‡"
"8 downstream & 4 upstream channels"
This means a wired PC connected to the modem should see 340Mpbs on the down or Up. If your wired adapter is rated at 1000Mpbs.
However if your on a 400Mpbs ISP service line, then the modem will be limted to 340Mbps and you'll not see 400Mbps. I would be recommended to get into a newer class modem like a C7800 or a CM1000 if you chose to go with a modem only option and intall a external router.
Wifi speeds are best attained by 5Ghz N mode or even AC mode which would give best performances. 2.4Ghz on N mode won't see much if at all past 100Mpbs.
