The 8x4 and 24x8 is modem channels and not wireless channels.
the C3700 is a N600 router and the C7000 is a AC1900. A little more wireless bandwidth but its not going to change anything if you're only on a 2 mbps connections.
Not sure what you mean by shows a large in the feedback? should have said lag in the feedback or from the time somthing happens until i see it
What speeds do you pay for? for internet speed i get 75 mbps
What speeds do you get if you test them? not quite sure how i would test the speed of the cameras
How many cameras and what resolution are they? i have 16 cameras 10 are bncs connected to a dvr and 6 are cat 5 connected to a nvr. but i see then with my tablet and phone thru wifi.

A little more wireless bandwidth but its not going to change anything if you're only on a 2 mbps connections. being the cameras are all on a wired connection to there recorders should not bog down the router, but what i would like is to have the playback on my phone and tablet be a bit faster so the feed i see happens without that lag i'm seeing now.
when i look at the cameras i'm using an app on the tablet or phone and wifi on the lan connection, when i'm away i'm using the wan connetion, i may see some lag on the wan but the lan connection seem like it should be faster. that is why i asked about the ac1900 unit if it would be faster for the wifi speed. thanks.
16 cameras potentially require quite a bit of bandwidth. A couple questions.
1. HD cameras Or what is the resolution, frame speed, and format?
2. When you're watching them with phone or app, does it upload the video online and then to the app or does it all stay on your local lan network?
3. If you're out in public does your phone have the same lag?
Reason why I ask this is about your upload speed. You put you have a 75mbps plan. Usually these have a 4-5mbps upload speed. Thats the key here. If you're running 16 hd cameras and its uploading to the cloud/online server, its going to potentially max out the connection. You've stated that your cameras are all wired to a switch (none wireless) with is great. The c3700 should be able to handle all that. It just comes down to how your cctv system works. If it keeps all your info on the local lan, an upgraded router potentially can help stream to your wireless devices. If it uploads it, then thats your bottleneck.
Here's a little article of calculating cctv bandwidth. I'd take a look at it to get a rough calculation of how much bandwidth you need to compare with what you have. Also, test your speeds (speedtest.net) to see upload/download.
thanks it looks like it would make not difference then to have an ac1900 combo unit or the c3700 unit i now have. as the wifi is just going to be as fast as the network cable. so i think the best thing for me to do is find a tablet the i can connect up to my network with a cable and turn off the wifi to that tablet and then i shold bet normal viewing. if that will not woro then i will checkinto hdmi from the dvr to the tablet. so can you tell me just how far can hdmi go and still be effective? i may have 20 to 30 feet get to the dvr/ nvr and if i can't combine the untis into one stream i will get a hybred nvr and ten have both. i'm thinking if i was to go the hdmi route then i will lose the app on the tablet but have to test that. i have a short cable so i can take the tablet and see how it does. thanks
