C3700 randomly drops connection / stops working (and works after reboot)

I've had the modem/router for about a month now, and in the past two weeks there's been multiple times (sometimes twice a day) where it just stops working all of a sudden - to the point where I can't even log in to the router. This cuts internet for both Ethernet and wireless connections. I have to reboot it and then it seems to work fine afterward.

 

I already called Comcast and had them do whatever they could on their side, so I'm pretty sure this isn't an ISP issue. The firmware is V2.02.08 but I don't see anything about newer firmware (just some VPN hotfix, and I don't use VPN). It's definitely not the physical connection as it also affects wireless, and I've checked all cables and ports and nothing seems to have issues.

 

I'm hoping there's a fix for this because I really don't want to be out of internet while I get this replaced, and I really like the featureset compared to the competition.

  • Have you attempted a factory reset with the pin hole in the back the modem by holding it for 30 seconds ?
