C3700 WiFi connection issue with nest protect
Has anyone ever been able to connect Nest Protect to Netgear C3700? It seems I have exhausted all options from customer support. Terrible Comcast Customer Support can't connect to the modem to check...

DarrenM, Thanks for following up and trying to help! No WPS Button. But,
I GOT IT TO WORK! :smileytongue:
Here's what worked step by step so no one ever has to go through this headache. If you have an extender, disconnect it.
Reset you phone and router.
Place the Protect ten feet from your router.
TURN OFF YOUR MOBILE DATA ON YOUR PHONE.
CONNECT TO YOUR WIFI VIA NON- 5G. USE 2.4
Hold the Protect button for twenting senconds until you hear the version number. (about 25 seconds) This resets the Protect.
Stand ten feet from you protect with your phone. (This is what I think made the difference)
Launch your Nest app and Add Product.
After entering the code on the back of the Protect, select it when found.
Be patient and PRAY it finds your network! :smileylol: (It should, if I didn't leave out a step)
This is for the C3700/N600 Modem/Router

Hello Rooster7d5
Not familiar with Nest products but during setup does it give you the option to manually type in the network name?

No it does not.
It tries to connect through my android phone to set up the network.
I've tried connecting to both 2.4 and 5G.
All my above mentioned products have connected this way, then I was able to select the network I would like to run it through.
This is the only product I have had, that will not get to this point.
Nest has said, I need to make sure I have ports 80,443, 1935, 9543 and 11095 open.
I've opened Netgear genie
Clicked Advanced tab, then Advanced Setup button, then Port Forwarding/ Port Triggering
Then set up TCP/UDP for the needed ports at the following Internal IP 192.168.0.100
Port Forwarding "Active is selected.
