C6300 AC1750 can't handle 300Mbps
We have WOW internet service. We currently have 110Mbps service. Everything is working good. When we upgraded to 300Mbps the modem would not accept that speed. The WOW customer service agent said t...

Mar 13, 2017Just upgraded to TW Spectrum 300mbs service, and both the 2.4 and 5ghz will not achieve anything more than the original ~100mbps via wireless. The wired speed does hit the 300mbps no problem. Even after multiple factory resets, the wireless using the sanctioned netgear 2.0.14 firmware does not provide the speed. Can someone from Netgear talk to someone at Spectrum and confirm this? Anyone know if the C7000 with it's channel bonding would fix this?

Hello Circadianswing
Do you have a older device that is not a 802.11AC device connected to the wireless this will pull the speed down on the wireless so try connecting your older devices to the 2.4ghz and your new ones on the 5ghz.

Hi Darren, I think what you said may be true.. 300mbps service from spectrum / time warner may need the 24x8 channel bonding, available in the newer nighthawk version of the router/modem. I moved on to an Arris 32 channel cable modem and tried a number of high end routers from other brands, only to have other issues with client wifi devices. In the end, I rolled back to 100mbps service with spectrum, and re-attached this modem/router combo. Everything works again. it was 2 weeks of unsuccessful testing.
