there are so many timeouts and ranging abort messages request coming from ISP makes me believe this is an ISP issue rather than device issue.
which device were you using before?

This is the 1st cable modem with Mediacom. I was using VDSL from CenturyLink but their best offering was only 25Mbps down/0.8kbps up in my area. Need the higher cable modem speed (150Mbps down/25Mbps up) from Mediacom. IF it can become reliable.

ah ok. Looks like there may some issue with RF. you should not be seeing so many timeouts and so many MAC Re-inits.
can you please call them fix the line?

i'll contact them again but I'm still not sure the modem is fault-free. I had an outage again yesterday. Cable modem event logs show the usual response as previously illustrated. However, in this case—as in all others—while the Modem's softwarwe shows the RF is missing the modem's cable connection and internet lights never go out. The modem fails to reconnect until I power cycle it (either by the switch or using the software reboot button in the advanced settings) and then the modem reconnects immediately on restart. This doesn't jibe to me if the RF conditions in the line have not changed in the time it takes to reboot.
