c6300 troubleshooting

The 5GHz light on my C6300 WiFi Cable Modem Router doesn't come on.  The 2.4 GHz band is working but it's really slow.

Tech support on the phone said this is not a hardware issue.  Comcast said the modem/router is the cause.

How do I troubleshoot it, without paying $50 over the phone, to verify?

    Hello Shadirustem

Can you tell me what Internet Provider you are on and what firmware the modem is. Also have you tried to do a factory reset on the modem by holding down the reset button on the back of the modem for 10 seconds?

      I'm with Comcast.

I did the 10 second device reset, and the problem seems to be fixed.  But, the ethernet light keeps blinking.  It never stays solid.  I looked at the manual and it only provides 2 functions for the ethernet LED (OFF, and solid green).  Does this mean anything?

      Thanks.

If it is blinking the port is sending or receiving traffic
