Same deal. My wife's iPhone behaves the same way. Loses its lease almost immediately. TBH it's largely for this reason I'm asking the question. Hell hath no fury like a woman without Instagram.

Have you tried to reserve the IP address for the iphones?

Hi Darren. I discovered that one of my other two access points (I am not sure which) was causing the problem. I discovered this by speculatively disabling the other two APs to see what would happen, and lo and behold the problem disappeared.
The flip side is that my Wi-Fi coverage is now significantly reduced, as I am running the whole house off one AP. Eventually, when I have more time to spare, I will bring up the other APs again, one by one, and see what happens. I assume the same thing will happen, in which case I'll tinker with the relevant router settings and try the solution you have suggested (thanks for that).
