Hello. I have been having a ton of issues with my upstream connection lately. I have Cox Communications as my ISP and I have contacted them multiple times but of course they are useless in helping me...

Remove the R series router and connect PC and your gaming devices directly to the C series mode.
Wire connect your gaming devices to the either modem or router. Its preferred over wireless for gaming.
Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Or you can bridge the C modem and then connect your R series router to the modem.

If I were to connect my gaming PC to my modem, wouldn’t it interfere with my wifi connection that my mobile devices and Apple TV need to use? I am currently hardwired to my Router (R device). There are no splitters along the line that I know of. I need the router for my WiFi enabled devices that I cannot hardwire.

Connected to the modem wired?
Either shouldn't interfere with other devices...

I am getting a new better moden today to test it and hopefully improive my speeds back to what they were. I thought my PC had to be wired to my router otherwise it wouldn't work. I could totally be wrong though.

Its has to be wired to a router of some forum. If your getting a modem with a built in router then connect it here. If your getting a modem only then you'll need a external router to connect to the modem.
