c6900 Remote Access
I recently purchased the c6900 modem/router. The genie app will not let me register the product or enable remote access. Please help.

You refer to the genie. This could be one of several things, the browser interface, a Windows or Mac application, or an Android/iThing app.

Which "The genie app"? What happens when you try?
I know nothing, but, according to:
https://kb.netgear.com/24686/
you're out of luck with the C6900:

Cable Gateway:

o C3700
o C3000

Not really. The original complaint was vague, but "The genie app"
was clear enough, especially with "register the product", which is not a
step with the web interface.

I completed the initial set up and the internet and wireless network are functioning fine. But it seems that many of the features from the mobile app are not working properly, such as registering the product and enabling remote access.

It doesn't help that one of the replies you received asked you to clarify which genie you meant and then said that there is no confusion. About as logical as Netgear's approach.
When you ask about registering the product that too can be confusing – once again down to Netgear.
Have you set up a MyNetgear account? The desktop genie has a link for this, as does the Android app.
This allows you to register your hardware, a dubious "benefit" that delivers not much. But it also lets you login to MyNetgear remotely so that you can play around with your hardware while away. That should let you mess around with remote access and other things.
You might find it easier to set things up using the Windows/Mac desktop genie.
Netgear has a habit of sneaking out new versions of the desktop genie without any notice. Find the latest, with luck, here:
