IF you get any RBK Orbi system, you can use it with your current modem/router, it would be recommended to configured the C6900 for modem only mode, then connect the RBK Orbi system to the modem. This will avoid having two routers online at the same time.
Please visit the Orbi AC or AC forums for more information on Orbi systems:

Good Luck.

In the case of the C6900 they call this "bridge mode", not to be confused with other "bridge" modes..

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
Check the section in the manual Cable Your Modem Router to a Router and Use Bridge Mode. When it comes to which Mesh system, Orbi is one option but there are also Nighthawk Mesh systems.

Yes Mike, I'm aware of this and how it works since having a C an CAX series modems already. However, when you look at the modems web pages you may not see bridge mode. You may See Router mode = Yes or No on some modem UIs.

That is why I checked the manual and provided a link to the appropriate section in that. In this way the user did not have to dig around looking for "modem mode" or "modem only mode", phrases that are not in the manual.
When dealing with questions like this, I put myself in the user's shoes and try to remove any unexplained specialist jargon. It reduces the likelihood that they will have to come back later with more questions.
It is not what I know that matters, but what the user may not know.
