C7000, disconnect from internet

I seem to be getting disconnected from the internet, the computer is connected by ethernet, if I unplug the router I'm okay for a while. Could you please dumb down your answer, I'm not that tech savey.

    Do you notice when the internet is out if the lights are doing anything different on the modem?
