Hi FURRYe38,
No matter what I do the Company name still shows. I powered the modem off for a few mins then powered back on. No-go. I enabled, disabled, renamed SSID and it still showed. I did noticed another NETGEAR company name in my list(those not broadcasting SSID like myself) just now. So maybe there is no way to prevent it. I am using the Nirsoft WiFi Info View portable utiilty: https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wifi_information_view.html
Thanks again!

So with the modem powered OFF and not back ON, does the one SSID appear still?
Can you post a screen capture of what your seeing? Use the choose file button to inlcuded your picture file.

With the modem turned OFF, my listing no longer shows in the list of wifi's around me. I am going by my MAC ADDRESS and with power ON its there, power OFF its not. I see numerous other wifi's around me not broadcasting SSID and others that are. In the screen shot below it shows all wifi's I am detecting(mine has the MAC blocked out purposely). With the modem OFF the screen shot would be identical except that my listing within it is no longer there. In this screen shot you can see two other wifi's that are broadcasting the Company/Manufacturer name( NETGEAR modem and a 2WIRE).

Thats something that can't be disabled. Just because other wifi signals are not showing the Company name doesn't mean they are not being broadcast. I presume the app controls this and can only give the company name if you were connected to there wifi signal then the company name maybe seen on that app. Something to ask the mfr of this app about. The app maybe detect the router mfr and then filling it in under the company name column. Something NG doesn't control.
