Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.

I don't know when the firmware was last updated (it's pushed by the ISP), but doing a factory reset is probably the next step here. I'll do that tonight. I'm already using channel 40 for the 5 GHz WiFi and that doesn't seem to be helping.

Yes, there are many other WiFi networks around (I live in an apartment building). I just checked the gateway's UI and I see eight 2.4 networks and eighteen 5 GHz networks. So, 26 total WiFi networks.

Also try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
