C7000v2 Keeps disconnecting
Hi all,
I bought the C7000v2 and I keep getting kicked offline every 15 or so minutes. At first I thought it was just my laptop VPN for work but I tried the main computer and it’s now doing it there too. Does anyone have any suggestions on what’s going on and how to fix this? It’s so frustrating as I work remote and am unable to do so now. I thought this was just a Comcast issue- I’ve even had them reshoot my underground line, new cables throughout the house, increased my internet speed and got a new laptop for work and it’s still an ongoing issue. Please help! :(

I have a C700v2 router/modem and the 5GHz connection kept dropping - very frustrating, seems to be the same issue as you. I tried to return the modem/router since it was 4 months old (Netgear only provides tech support for 3 months - very weak), and they said first lets see if its really a problem. They had me change a few settings and it has been working fine. Here's what they told me to do, summarized:
Log in to router using 192.168.0.1 address. Default user name is admin, plus any password if you established one, otherwise the default password is "password" on mine.
Under the Basic tab, pick Wireless:
Change the 2.4Ghz network to channel 11.
Leave the 5Ghz network as is (Ch 153)Under the Advanced tab:
Pick Advanced Setup, then Wireless, change the CTS/RTS Threshold on both networks to 2307.
Pick Setup, then WAN Setup, change the MTU size to 1492.
