C7100V - Xfinity Internet and Phone stopped working after 5 days

Just purchased a C7100V modem for Xfinity voice and internet. Set it up and everything worked fine for a few days.  This morning the internet and phone has stopped working. Comcast tells me it is an issue with the modem and verified that service is not interrupted at our house.  Has anyone had this issue?  Is there a simple fix?
