Not fully sure if they are can be or not. I believe the ISP will know this information about the phone jacks. If they can't be you can always just install a phone line splitter in one of the phone ports.

What I'd do instead of that is go with a voip phone setup like ooma or one of the other ones.
It'll be cheaper than xfinity's setup and will let you continue to use your device or upgrade to a docsis 3.1 modem in the future.

Plemans, Yeah I've thought about that too but I think I am just gonna stick with xfinity because my billing etc is all setup with them. I don't really want to go into another payment contract with another provider.

What speeds do you pay for with xfinity? Reason I ask is they're increasingly requiring docsis 3.1 for some of their speed tiers. If you're needing a docsis 3.1 device AND phone, you might have to use one of their devices if you go that route.
