What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What channels are you using? Auto? Try Auto and 48 on 5Ghz. Or try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

I am set to channel 1 and 149
neighbors are on different channel.

I also have netgear genie App on my phone, its connected to the wifi but seems to not able to connect to the c7800 to manage it.

Either use the Nighthawk app or log into the modems web page with a PC or laptop and web browser at 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1.

Yes, I know how to do all that, plus reseting the c7800. Is there some thinking out of the sandbox solutions. I have read all of your replies on this netgear community related to the c7800. There seems to be a issues with xfinity and this c7800, do you think so?
IF reboot or reset is the best option, then netgear should provide a option to schdule a reboot every night or every week. Best done at night when no one is a wake, (kids online classes, I am work at home)
