C7800 Firmware Version V3.01.43 Out of Date Nighthawk App

Recently installed C7800 by recommendation from Xfinity-Comcast tech. I feel that was a mistake and miss my ASUS setup and interface. Regardless, Im past the 14 days to return it at best buy so I'm going to have to make due with it. 

 

I read there is no way for me to update formway on the c7800. It says in the plain web GUI that it is V3.01.43. I try to use the nighthawk app and it tells me the Firmware is Out of Date.

 

It won't let me update it.

My ISP I understand won't update it.

 

I can't click ANYWHERE ACCESS because it states no devices are available.

 

I don't usually have trouble with these devices but I'm not stuck on the fact I can be making a mistake somewhere and am overlooking something. Any suggestions or options on how to get around not being able to update firmware or how to use the mobile app?
