1. It wouldn't be the first product I've seen returned to amazon and resold.
2. Or it could have been from a 3rd party seller on amazon.
3. You can contact support to dispute the purchase date or what might be faster, is to exchange it through amazon. Amazon has a fairly easy return policy and it might be faster than trying to RMA the device.
4. did you try a simple factory reset? If it was a return/resale, it might have been setup. Push and hold reset for 7-15 seconds while its powered on.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing: someone returned their used router to Amazon and left me holding the bag. I *did* try the factory reset, no joy.
Already hit Amazon up for a replacement, hopefully they don't ship this one to some other poor slob! lol

Please let Amazon know that this one unit should be returned to NG. IF this is a HW issue, it needs to be returned to NG for review.
