correction with Grammar typos
C7800 is not a circle supported device.
There are only specific models which are circle supported. Please use only those devices if you need circle.

Feb 11, 2020I had already identified that in the initial post. I also already addressed several follow up questions:
Why is it implemented in the firmware if it's not even supported? What are my options for parental control if the parental controls are rendered useless?
However, your answer as an employee, gives me reason to believe the developers of this router are simply incompetent, much like nature of your "answer."

Tgere no need to be rude.
Your best option would be to factory reset the C7800 and setup from scratch. Besure to not enable any Circle functions on the modem. I have this came modem and have never encountered this issue. The C7800 performed with no problems for me. I don't use Circle or Armor.
If this modem doesn't seem to meet your needs, then maybe you should find something that does.
Good Luck.

I am pretty sure no where in Firmware it says "circle" is supported. Nor it would have been on the box as well.
Please note that word "parental control" is generic. It is used for OpenDNS based parental control as well.
Devices with circle need to be officially listed as supported on our website and most of them have marking on box with Circle Logo.

additionally since you pointed to currentsetting.htm
here is how a circle supported device looks like, there is circle specific option in there.

Exactly!
Trouble is that Netgear marketeers completely abandoned the OpenDNS based Netgear Live Parental Control (LPC) - each and ever router model with LPC does point to Circle when clicking the Parental Controls in the controls.
Further on, the Genie App supporting LPC (Bypass Login) is declared dead and it's compatibility with other router families was denied in favour of the Nighthawk App.Processes and services must be retained for the products with Netgear Live Parental Control (OpenDNS based) already with the customers within their expected product lifetime (about 10 years at least), and even more for the product still on the shelf of the distributors and resellers, and even more for those still manufactured.
Now I'm happy that we have a Netgear contact which seems to have the bigger picture - glad to hear from Netgear about the next steps....
PS. We have Zero interest in getting Circle - even if it would be free.
