C7800 (x4s) cable modem - Wireless latency spikes

c7800 (x4s) nighthawk cable modem combo
Firmware Version

V3.01.43

Multiple devices I am able to replicate latency/jitter spikes on the wireless only.  I used my laptop, phone, and PS4 on this test.  I will have a stable 3ms ICMP ping and then it will jump to 78, 150ms and back down.  This kind of jump when gaming wirelessly which is my only choice because of the housing situation is causing me some issues.  If I connect my laptop via cat6 cable and send multiple packets I will not get a latency jump like the WiFi.  I run the wireless for our company and do not have this issue on my cisco access points at work, but they are not cable modem combos like the c7800.  Normally I would say its just the RF environment, but it is relatively clean environment and like I said this issue happens under 10feet to the modem as well.  When playing ps4 my in game just freaks out and have had this happen on multiple servers.  Tried my ps4 on the dmz of the modem and although faster I still see the spikes that cause major issues when playing.

*Any settings in the modem that could be causing these spikes on the wireless only?  Do I have a faulty unit?
