Cable Modem CM600 OK for fiber?

Bought this last year when I cut the cord with my cable TV service and downgraded to Internet-only.

If I now choose to switch to fiber, will this modem work? And does the 400 Mbps limit still apply to a fiber signal?

Thx, all.

  • The CM600 is a cable modem. Not a fibre gateway/modem.

You'd need to contact your fibre ISP for compatible devices.

Thanks; after poking around some more, I'd come to the same conclusion. The supplier wants me to rent theirs, of course, and I'm having a very hard time figuring out what a compatible device might be so I could just purchase my own.

Most Fiber or ONT ISPs may not support user owned hardware. Something to ask them to see if they and and if they do, they can tell you what they support if they do.
