You won't get access to the firmware. Its part of the docsis 3.0 spec. Its not user changeable/accessible.

plemans, It should be if your an ISP like me. My original post states that. I'm just trying to allow a customer to use their modem that they bought themselves onto my system. I'm not allowing that unless the modem firmware is up to date. Could cause system security issues and or user issues that I have to deal with. I searched "netgear C6250 Firmware" went to page selected download, states something about ISP (Me), clicked Knowledge Base. That's where the fhe bad link is (Above in First Post). Thanks, Ron
My Setup:
Get Firmware / Manufacturers CVC (Certificate) from Netgear ( Which isn't going very good at this moment!!)
Make cfg file w/ added CVC
Place cfg & Modem Firmware in TFTP/FTP server
Modem:
Comes online downloads cfg see's newer firmware in cfg, file reqest from cable modem to TFTP/FTP Server, Server sends file, Modem reboots and comes online ignores file download because it's the same.
