Can a CG3000-1 be used as a wireless access point?

Hi, Just signed onto the NBN and the modem I have is awlful. I still have my CG3000-1 modem and was hoping I could turn it into a wireless access point. My new modem has awlful wireless, I have cable running downstairs to a switch. Can I configure the CG3000-1 modem to be a wireless access point and connect it to my switch, to allow wireless downstairs? Thanks

Perhaps.  It's normally possible with practically any router, but the
documentation for the CG3000 seems to be unusually poor, so I'm less
confident about it.  There should be a step-by-step here:

That's written for a C6300-as-WAP, but the steps are about the same for
any other router (any make/model) which lacks a one-step WAP option,
    including yours.
