Can i use this as a router only?
Long story short, my grandma's previous modem has phone running through it and this new modem/router does not have a phone port(c6900-100nas).
Can I run an ethernet cable from the old modem to this new one and use it as a router only? Which ethernet port should I use?
Thank you!

That would be wireless access point mode. Cable modem/routers like the C6900 do not support that.
You can use the C6900 in "bridge mode" in front of another router.
Manuals are always a good place to start.
