cannot change wifi channel

Hi All.....networking semi-virgin (any such thing???) here:

I own a four-plex and offer internet to everyone living here.  I have two frequencies I should be able to access simultaneously:  2.5 GHz and 5GHz.  I want to keep my tenants on 2.5 and use 5 only for my devices.

I can see that both frequencies are set up (found under "Wireless Setup") and when I click on Connect to Wifi, the 5GHz frequency shows up under "Manage Networks", however it does NOT show when I click on "Choose a wireless network".

Interestingly, the network shows, and I can connect to in on my iPhone and my Smart TV.

Not sure if I'm using all the correct terminology here, but anyone out there want to take a stab at it?  Thank you in advance!

Wendy

    Hello Sophie2000

What you are saying is it does not show the wifi name on your PC when looking for wireless networks but you are able to see it on all other devices?

Darren - thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay.  Yes, that is correct.  It shows on my phone/tv but not when I click on the wireless icon in the tray.  I see quite a few networks, including my other one, but not the one I want to use.

How old is the PC? it may only have a 2.4ghz wifi network card in the pc.
