Hi there,
I turned the modem off, unscrewed the coax, turned the modem on, let if fully boot up, pressed and held the reset button, let it fully boot again, tried to login with another computer using admin password and it would not accept it.
So, I tried the MSO trick and was successful. I went into the interface and clicked on "reset factory settings", rebooted and boom - logged in using admin password.
I see now that there is way to update anything which is all I wanted to check in the first place. So I am done.
Thanks for trying to help.

This is not a solution. It does not work. I performed the steps exactly as described.
Still wating for something that works!
As of now I am locked out of my own modem and cannot update firmware to ensure security.

A. you can't update firmware on modems. The ISP does it. Not the user.
B. What are the led's doing on it?
C. Is your isp seeing the modem on their end when its hooked up?
D. the default logins are usually login: admin password: password They are case sensitive.

Try a different PC or laptop wire connected to the modem to see if you can gain access to its web page.
