CAN'T UPGRADE?
Bought a C6900 to replace a the cheap MODEM/router that cable co provided. I am several versions behind on firmware. Netgaer.com says that only the cable co can do upgrades, but this isn't "their...
If you're isp won't update it, then you can't.
Sadly, only the isp can push firmware upgrades on combo devices because the firmware is tied to the provisioning.
You can have the ISP contact netgear for the latest firmware but rarely does the isp actually do so.
Its one of the primary reasons we recommend modems seperate from the routers to people.
