CAX30 registration for DDNS failed

When I register for DDNS service, after I enter host name, email, and password, it always shows "the specified hostname is not a valid DNS name", no matter what host name I enter. What is wrong?

You have been into mynetgear/no-ip and created an address?

Very odd. according to the fine Nighthawk AX6 AX2700 WiFI Cable Modem Router Model CAX30 User Manual the service selection should show more information, and when I understand right two options like (x) Netgear NoIP and ( ) DynDNS. Unless you already have a NoDNS (Netgear) or DynDNS account, and a registered DDNS hostname, only Netgear NoIP can be used for a -new- registration. Just the "No" filed there does look like a bug anyway.
