CAX30 Slow Internet Speeds
Hello all Need some help please. I recently decided to get my own modem instead of renting one out from Xfinity. I got tired of their XB7. I bought a brand new Nighthawk CAX30 (AX6 AX2700) about ...

Thanks for the advice. My post is exactly relevant to the original poster's issue. As such, it was intended to bring value to the discussion: Re: CAX30 Slow Internet Speeds
Yes, I have posted seperately seeking assistance.

I got a Halloween boo in that my issue is eerily similar.
Yesterday I brought home a brand new Netgear Nighthawk AX6 AX2700 router from
COSTCO (Firmware version 1.4.10.8).
I had a 500 Mbps Internet + TV with WOW.
Swapped out their WiFi router with the above. All checks out OK - still getting 500 Mbps+ speeds.
Called them to drop the cable TV and increase the speed to 1 GB (internet only).
No difference in speedtests.
I see that many different factors can come into play. I have a 1GB Ethernet 5 port splitter connected to one of the ETH ports out of the Netgear. In my office, I have my Linux box connected vai ETH.
Tested the speeds via dslreports/speedtest - both show abysmal speeds (~200 MBps).
The Netgear Android Phone App shows ~450 Mbps download speeds. From the router
login page, I get similar results. I tried both 2.4 & 5 GHz with simialr results.
All I want to know is how to verify that I am getting my money's worth from the ISP.
Thanks for all your help in advance. Have a safe happy Halloween!

For advice on that, it might be a good idea to start your own fresh conversation rather than tagging on to the end of one started a month or so ago.
You don't say which router you bought. I ask because AX6 AX2700 is not a model number.
If you mean the CAX30, that is a cable modem/router, best discussed in the appropriate section.
You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:
In the meantime you could visit the support pages:
Support | NETGEAR
Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.
You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.
I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads. - ashari50Oct 31, 2021Tutor
Thanks for the reply & suggestion. I will start a new thread under the forum you pointed out.
BTW, yes, the model no is CAX30 (Netgear Nighthwak AX6 AX2700) - sorry for missing the full details.
Thanks,
Harry

No problem. Netgear labels these things in baffling ways.
As the main point of your question seems to be modem related, you may get more knowledgeable advice over there. This place is for the router brigade. Even then it isn't the best place to ask about "RAX" routers. They have their own bolthole:

I warned you that it is complicated.
